As
usual, I got a late start and wasn’t going to make it to the
Burger King by 7am. But
imagine my surprise when nobody was there when I drove up! I couldn’t believe the left me!
Just then Jack rolled in with others following…..enough to
make it an “official” run.
Whew! For a
minute there, I thought I had a Skunked run.
As we stood in the parking lot talking, I counted nine SHR
member vehicles and one guest.
A good number for a trail ride.
I want to thank Larry Crawford for volunteering to lead us
around Shiloh. Our
first trail led us to a favorite spot….the particular spot where I
broke my D44 last year. A
nasty little hill where you aim for a tree at the top, then as you
crest gravity slides the front left as you power up.
Next was a muddy trail that seemed to get worse as we went! The kind of trail that after the first vehicle makes it
through the condition deteriorates quickly.
Everyone gave it their best but succumbed to the strap during
some point on the trail. Shawn
and I gave reverse gear a good work out strapping people through the
deeper parts and at the end of the trail no one complained.
We all decided it was time for lunch, thank goodness.
Last, but not least, you can’t go to Shiloh Ridge without
visiting the rock garden. To
sum things up it was a great time, even if you consider those who
broke things. If
someone asks about Shiloh Ridge, I’ll give it two thumbs up!
